OATS CHILLA

Quick, healthy, and delicious recipe loaded with all the goodness. A must try delicacy that is packed with the right amount of nutrition and spice, perfect to be served for breakfast or snacks.
Ingredients:
· Instant oats – 1 cup
· Semolina/suji – 2 tbsp
· Gram flour/ besan – 2 tbsp
· Onion – 1 (medium size) finely chopped
· Tomato - 1(medium size) finely chopped
· Green capsicum – 1 (medium size) finely chopped
· Ginger – 1 tsp finely chopped
· Green chillies – 2-3 finely chopped
· Cumin powder – 1 tsp
· Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
· Red chilli powder – 1 tsp
· Dry Mango powder – ½ tsp or lemon juice
· Coriander leaves- 1 tbsp finely chopped
· Oil/ Ghee for cooking
· Water – 2 cups approx.
· salt to taste
Method:
· Take a pan and dry roast the oats for 2-3 minutes or until aromatic. Completely optional, but this helps to make the powder easily.
· Transfer the oats in a large bowl and let it cool down for few minutes. Once cooled add the oats to the mixer jar.
· Now pour this oats powder in a bowl, add one cup of water and give a good mix. Let it rest for 10 mins.
· Now add semolina and gram flour along with all the veggies onions, capsicum, tomatoes, ginger, green chillies and spices turmeric, red chilli powder, cumin powder, dry mango powder. Add coriander leaves and salt too.
· Mix everything well and add water to prepare a medium consistency batter. It shouldn’t be very thick nor runny.
· Take a pan, add a teaspoon of oil/ghee and then pour a large spoonful of oats chilla batter and spread it evenly into round shape. Cover it with a lid and cook for 2-3 minutes from each sides.
· Serve this healthy oats chilla hot with curd, chutney or tomato ketchup.
