Upma is a popular South Indian breakfast made using semolina (called rava or suji locally), veggies, spices and herbs. Many people feel it's the most boring breakfast to start the day with, but believe it or not it's my favourite ❤️ breakfast when it's served very hot on my table. I love to have it with little sugar drizzled over the hot upma, I think so it is common at many Homes in the south especially Karnataka. Each and every household has their own way to prepare this in India, but I just like it this way, without veggies. I don't like it very soft too, like khichdi. If you prefer you may add veggies of your choice to make it healthier.
