WINTER SPECIAL LADOO

Winter special healthy and nutritious ladoos made using wheat flour, edible gum (gondh), makhana (fox nuts), melon seeds, dry coconut, loaded with dry fruits and flavored with ginger, nutmeg and cardamom powder.
Ingredients:
· Ghee – 300-350 gms
· Edible Gum Gondh – ½ cup
· Musk Melon Seeds – 4 tbsp
· Water Melon Seeds – 4 tbsp
· Poppy Seeds – 4 tbsp
· Almonds – 4 tbsp (roughly chopped)
· Cashew Nuts – 4 tbsp (roughly chopped)
· Pistachios – 4 tbsp (roughly chopped)
· Fox Nuts /Makhana – 1.5 cup (chopped)
· Dry Coconut – 6 tbsp (grated)
· Wheat Flour – 2 cups
· Dry Ginger Powder – 1 tbsp
· Nutmeg Powder – 1 tsp
· Cardamom Powder – 1.5 tsp
· Powdered Sugar – 2.5 to 3 cups (as per your preference)
Method:
· Take a kadai or pan, add 2 tbsp ghee and roast the gondh in batches. It will turn bigger in size. Remove it in a plate.
· Once it cools down crush the gondh using your hand or the back side of a steel glass or with a help of rolling pin.
· Similarly in the same pan, add little ghee and roast the seeds. Add more ghee and roast the dry fruits too.
· Dry roast the fox nuts, till it is crispy and keep it aside. Dry roast the dry coconut too.
· Slightly crush the seeds, dry fruits and makhana in a mixer jar.
· Now in the same pan roast the wheat flour by adding ghee in batches. Roast till the wheat flour turns slightly brown in colour and is aromatic. This should also be done on low to medium heat.
· Take a mixing bowl add the roasted wheat flour, crushed seeds, dry fruits, fox nuts and gondh. Additionally add dry ginger powder, nutmeg powder and cardamom powder. Give it a good mix. Now add the powdered sugar and mix it very well.
· Now start making the ladoos when the mixture is still warm, but it should not be very hot.
· Adjust the quantity of sugar as per your preference.
· You can store these yummy ladoos in an air tight container.
