KULITH PITHALE (Horsegram)

Kulith pithale is another konkan special recipe which is also known as pithi. This is very easy, delicious, healthy and quick recipe which goes fantastic with bhakari.


Ingredients:

· Oil – 1 tbsp

· Garlic cloves – 7-8 crushed

· Green Chillies – 2-3 finely Chopped

· Curry leaves – 1 sprig

· Onion – 1 big (finely chopped)

· Kulith Flour - 2 tbsp

· Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp

· Water

· Salt

· Kokum Petals – 3-4

· Freshly grated coconut – 1 tbsp

· Finely chopped Coriander leaves


Method:

· Take a kadai with oil in it, add the crushed garlic cloves and green chillies, fry until garlic turns light golden.

· Now add curry leaves and finely chopped onion.

· Fry until onion turns soft, roughly for about 5-6 minutes.

· Take a bowl, add kulith flour and turmeric powder. Add water and mix well so that no lumps are left.

· Now pour the kulith mixture and add water to adjust the consistency.

· Keep stirring and see to it that no lumps should be formed.

· Now add salt, kokum petals and freshly grated coconut.

· Give it a good mix and cook on medium heat for about 7-8 minutes, till it is completely cooked.

· Finally garnish with freshly chopped coriander leaves and mix well.

· Kulith pithale is ready to be served with Rice bhakri or Jowar bhakri or mixed bhakri of your choice.
